MENS SENIORS:

SOME WORDS FROM COACH - JORDIE McKENZIE

Collegians 129 defeated St Bernards 74.

Saturday was a tough contest that ended up opening up in the last quarter. In the last, we were able to get on top around the contest, use our hands, and generate some deep entries.

Credit to St Bernards, they were very strong around the footy, and generated plenty of scores from the midfield.

It was great to get the result for our warrior skipper Sam Hibbins, in his 200th game.

Sam was busy around the footy and also went forward and got his just reward with 3 goals.

Josh Walker played his best game for the club, with his class shining through across the 4 quarters.

We sit in 2nd on the ladder with a 4-2 record.

MENS RESERVES:

Collegians 64 defeated St Bernards 56.

Our Mens Reserves are on the trot again!

After a stellar four-goal-to-one opening quarter, our Reserves faced a much closer remainder of the match.

We piled on another four goals in he second term, but so did the Snowdogs.

A much closer second half ensued, with the final term coming down to the wire.

St Bernards kicked two goals, while we were left goalless! Luckily, our fast start and strong first half held us in good stead to record another great win!

Luke Smith, Ben Hill, Will D'Amico, Lucas Heriot, Ben Meachem and Cooper Mitchell were named in the best.

Jack Howard and Will Houghton kicked two goals each.

We sit in 8th on the ladder with three wins and three losses.

Collegians 35 defeated Uni Blacks 32.

Our Thirds had a gutsy, hard fought win at the Trott too!

After a goalless first. term for both sides, we managed to kick 2 to the Blacks 1 in the second term.

A really tight tussle ensued after the main break, as we were down by just one point with a quarter to play.

While both sides kicked one goal in the fourth quarter, it was our additional behinds that helped us over the line!

Speriden Peterson, Leon Keam, Quinn Schwarz, Zachary Climpson and Sam Beazley were best.

Sam Heriot kicked one.

MENS UNDER 19s (Round 7):

A huge statement win from our Thirds keeps them clear on top of the ldder with a massive percentage of 304%.

They sit undefeated with a 6-0 record, but will be kept on their toes, as Ormond, their next opponent, also sits on 24 points.

Eddie Gibb, Mario Mckeown, Gabe Wines-Winch, Nikola Artis, Lucca Castine and Fergus Ekins were dubbed best afield for us.

WOMENS ROUND 6 RESULTS

A tough weekend, but we still got one win on the board. Let’s hear from our Women’s coach Dom Lucarelli.

WOMENS SENIORS:

Collegians 35 defeated West Brunswick 27.

Another hard fought contest, coming away with a win. Young guns Cam Millias and Eb Angelopoulos were huge in the middle all day, bolstered by Roxy Beuzeville who is fast becoming a fan favourite.

Tanisha Clark was electric all day delivering extreme pressure to the opposition at every turn.

Double majors from Georgia Harris and singles from Beuzeville, Cam Millias and Maddy Shaw helped the Lions home to a an 8 point win!

An exciting challenge this weekend against the undefeated Scotch beckons for the young Lions. Let’s go!

WOMENS RESERVES:

Collegians 16 defeated by West Brunswick 45.

Short on the bench and playing good opposition, the reserves had their work cut out for them again a great Reserve division competitor in West Brunswick.

The arrival of Liv Box, Brooke Tuszinsky and Annabel Schmidt from the divisional game boosted morale and helped keep the rotations fresh. A big thank-you to those players for playing two games on Saturday!

Irish stars Lydia Rainey and Sarah Mullins were dominant all over the ground, and inside mid bull Laura Luci got onto the scoreboard with a well deserved goal.

Bella Allan slotted the second for the day, with the team going down despite a valiant effort.

WOMENS THIRDS:

Collegians 21 defeated by Parkdale 24.

A hard fought slog and a loss of 3 points to Parkdale was the medicine needed to keep the team hungry for improvement after so many big wins this season.

A early out to star ruck Sunday Stoney left a hole around the stoppages, but Annabel Schmidt and Bec Rundle worked tirelessly to fill it.

A big week on the track to work on some key areas, especially fast disposal and good decision making with ball in hand will do us well as we reload to take on the OM's this coming weekend.
