Reserves Women’s Premiers!

In special scenes, we watch our Reserves Women bring home our first ever Women’s Premiership to Collegians!

On a windy Sunday at Elsternwick Park, it was all purple and gold from the get go, as we stamped our authority early on Old Scotch.

We scored four goals in the opening term and held Scotch to just a single point, as we locked in for what would be an even more exciting second quarter!

We opened the second with two very quick goals, pushing our margin out to 48 points at the main break.

It was the second half where we just tore the game open, barely allowing Scotch to pass the centre circle where our defenders, headlined by Kim White, commanded the game and took intercept mark after intercept mark.

We scored another four goals in the third term and a final goal in the last quarter, taking home an 80-point Grand Final victory for the ages.

All while, we were able to keep Scotch to just one goal for the entire game.

Brooke Tuszynski starred with two goals, as did Bella Rees.

Jess Stolz, Kate Dudley and Aoibhinn Henderson also kicked two goals each.

Sunday Stoney dominated in the ruck in what was a true team effort and showing!

Chelsea McDermott was named Best on Ground, for her mighty efforts and a goal to go with it.

It was a huge club effort and a big congratulations goes to the entire Women’s Football Program, headed by Steph and Dom, who have finally brought home a Women’s Flag!

To all the coaches, the players across the entire program, thank you all for your efforts, your support and for being involved this season.

This Premiership is a testament to everyone who supported the journey, and you will all go down in history as Collegians pioneers!
